Carroll Public Library Tour

The Carroll Public Library expanded to to meet growing community needs as well as add to their collection. The former Carnegie location of this library now houses the Carroll County Historical Museum.

The Carroll Public Library was established in 1906. Originally located on Carroll's Main Street, the library relocated in 1975 to a new building behind the county courthouse along with the city hall and police departments. The library was able to expand in 2020 when City Hall moved to a different location.

The Carroll Public Library has amenities like:

  • "social stairs" that can seat up to 50 people with a large retractable screen

  • wall-mounted STEM and fine motor development toys
  • accessible and modern storage for library materials
  • large, centralized staff work area with tall work tables, cabinet storage, and room for book cart storage
  • a designated staff break room
  • a large public meeting room that can accommodate up to 40 people with movable tables as well as a wall-mounted screen and projector
