The Science of Rocks!

Thursday, July 16 from 3 - 4 PM

Some rocks spark, some rocks glow, and some rocks...just look really neat! Learn about, look at, and touch some unique and odd rocks/minerals at this awesome presentation: then receive a special prize of your own to take home.

 

Cemetery Walk

Thursday, July 16 from 7 - 8:30 PM

Learn about different headstones, tombs, and mausoleums in our local cemetery as well as alternate burial styles! Then meet us back at the museum to look at and interpret cave paintings and gravestone symbols. This program is a partnership between the Jefferson Public Library and the Greene County Historical Society.

Dungeons & Dragons One-Shot Adventures

Thursday, July 23 from 6:30 - 9 PM

Three Dungeon Masters. Three adventures. One awesome night. 

Learn the basics and enjoy a short two-hour D&D campaign featuring pre-rolled characters! Perfect for beginning and seasoned adventurers alike. Maximum of 4 teens per party.

Science Center of Iowa Performance

Thursday, July 30 from 1 - 2 PM

See spectacular cryogenic demonstrations as you "take a plunge into the extreme world of cold! Using dry ice and liquid nitrogen, SCI presenters reveal how temperature changes affect matter — from bouncy balls that shatter to bananas that turn into hammers".

After-Hours Teen Shin-Dig!

Thursday, July 30 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM

Congratulations, explorers: you've completed the Summer Reading Shin-Dig! Now it's time to sit back and enjoy prizes, snacks, music, and games with your friends.
